Screenshots/ Enhanced rendering
Press F9 to generate a standard or enhanced screenshot based on your display settings.
Check the box in preferences to generate an enhanced screenshot. Enhanced screenshots can
have much larger resolutions, use the show border option to see the proportions of your image.
Settings/Preferences/Screenshots/Enhanced render (Tick box)
Width: Write the width of your screenshot.
Height: Write the height of your screenshot.
Antialiasing: Minimizes the distortion artifacts. See example below:
Left: Antialiasing is off. See the artifacts of objects borders. Right: Antialiasing is set to x16. The borders has better blending between pixels and looks softer.
Shadow resolution: Resolution of shadows. Max depends on GPU and shadow resolution in lights.
Shadow samples: Number of shadow samples per pixel. Max depends on GPU.
Show border: Shows border around enhanced screenshot area. The border does not come to screenshot when saved.
When saving screenshots/ animation frames, you can select enhance rendering and a folder destination. Enhanced rendering allows you to set super large resolutions, like 4k, 8K and up to 12K.
Trial and error is required to test your videocard capabilities, images beyond the size of 5K may require to disable some features. Example Antialiasing might need to be disabled.
